our approach to a 1st 4 Executive Search assignment

These are the usual steps that we expect to apply in an Executive Search assignment:

o Review meetings with the Chairman, MD and / or other Directors as advised by our sponsor, to familiarise ourselves with key personnel, organisation, site, and cultural issues and develop an in-depth understanding of the history, structure, operations of, and vision for, your company which will support the search process

o Review meetings, where this may be appropriate and as advised and agreed by our sponsor, with any current, temporary, or previous incumbent in the role, and any other direct reports to the position, to establish their operational perspective on the role

o Clarification of any activities to date

o Agree / reaffirm the Role Definition (including e.g. Purpose - Scope - Specific Responsibilities - Objectives - Business Priorities - Deliverables)

o Agree / reaffirm the Person Specification i.e. what are the essential and / or desired knowledge, skills, experience and competency areas?

o Agree the salary range within which we should be searching, and identify other principal remuneration / benefits

o Agree initial target companies from which this individual might be sought

o Agree companies which may be inappropriate to approach, for existing / potential commercial reasons

o Review the requirement for a complementary advertising campaign, using traditional media or Internet sources and manage as necessary and agreed

o Agree timescale of deliverables to ensure that 1st Executive Search meet all of your expectations for the assignment

o Agree an appropriate and on going communications strategy between all of those involved in the management of the assignment, both at an administrative, operational and strategic level

o Agree the interview process e.g. who will be involved, how many stages of interview or assessment do you anticipate, do you wish to build any form of psychometric assessment into the process in advance for shortlist candidates and so on

o Support the process of offer and negotiation of package as required by the client

o Once the candidate has accepted a job offer, maintain a dialogue with both the candidate and the client to ensure a smooth integration into the organization during the early months and at the same time, achievement of essential performance goals
